Re: 2022-11-03 snapshot
Without having tried myself, I think you'd need to change ground texture resolution from 256x256 as the texture squares are much larger now

Re: Wheres the new snapshot @jlv
I think you might be fill rate limited. Does it speed up when you reduce the size of the window? I did a bit more playing around. No, it is not impacted by window size. I went through and played with pretty much every setting. Reduced model detail, turned off a few things, got rid of all models, an...

Re: Triangles/second and other benchmarks
Interesting. Will have to do some tests with my track. I have 700 trees of 6500 triangles, which might be a bit much in retrospect. Will try a test just grouping them together and see how the performance changes This example of instancing had similar performance for rendering a 500 triangle asteroid...

Re: 2020-08-12 snapshot
In addition to that, possibly another file for scripted particles that is just a list of additional textures to load. Would be good to be able to create/delete billboards through the script, instead of having to declare hundreds of them in billboards file, and have to hide them under the map/scale t...

Re: 2020-08-12 snapshot
Beautiful work! They are much better than the billboard versions! Just a query - was this bit of code to keep the script functional on older snapshots? If so, I was getting alot of errors when I tried the track before I recalled that I hadn't installed the snapshot function cache_pose_sequence(anim)...

I do agree with the dynamic shadows, at least for the moving objects. I'd consider it a missing factor in the physics of the game, particularly for 3rd person players to get a judgement of the wheels proximity to the ground.Andy_Hack wrote:For me this game really needs anti-aliasing and dynamic shadows.

Re: Wheres the new snapshot @jlv
Alex, I never meant to imply you guys aren't super talented. DJ, while you're here, I'm adding a new JS api that lets you pre-store poses so it doesn't have to continuously copy it over from Javascript. It's way faster, 400 waving flaggers go from 10 FPS to 90 FPS. Since I'm also adding interpolati...

Re: Wheres the new snapshot @jlv
***Bit of a mess this post*** Just a bit of a test with my shitty laptop. Not much difference with framerate until I bring the model geo detail down to ~5. Not sure if the frame rate step up just comes from bringing the clipping plane forward, but the model polygon count didn't really change signifi...

Re: Different Texture Maps for Each JM
This is already the case? If you're talking about the rider model, then you'd really be wanting separate models for different parts of the body, although only the boots would be worth separating really

Re: Pose export script for Blender 2.80
I wouldn't think the animation part would add too much. The model itself would just need to be optimised with lods like you wouldn't any other model. If the animation did have any impact, you could easily halt the animation based on flagger distance from the camera

Re: Pose export script for Blender 2.80
Finally got around to trying this script out. Works great! I had modified the code to interpolate between keyframes to smooth the motion out, but I had other incomplete stuff in the script, so I didn't apply it to this trial.

Also, just for general tidiness, decals should be sized a factor of 2, so in this case 2048x2048.
