Re: Game Suggestions

Unless there are official servers set up elsewhere in the world, there should be no ping kicking (unless it is an official race). People cant help that the only 24/7 servers are in the US don't get the wrong end of the stick,i'm not suggesting any policy for the official servers. the capability for...

Re: Game Suggestions

when hosting a server you could choose to enable/disable a few auto kick options, and their settings, for example 1. ping kick- if a players ping is over your set limit 2-3 times within a certain duration they're kicked, occasional spikes wouldnt be a problem. 2. sim/arcade mode- 3. roost level - 4. ga...

Re: better offline

yep i think its a shame the Ai dont work anymore they were a useful addition, the original Ai were way better, you could train them up to a fair standard easily so they ran reliably on many tracks, what we have now are untrainable there's no prospect of getting them round any track quicker than you c...

Re: Possible Harescramble / Endurocross series?

timing gates....basically they're placed at each corner so riders must complete whole track. when you've placed your gates,by click and drag, make a note of the number order for a start lap,and then for a normal lap (ie.without start),you'll need to write both these sets of numbers in order at the bo...

Re: Possible Harescramble / Endurocross series?

yeh its hard to make good terrain with game editor alone, for easier results you wanna use L3DT to make your terrain, it generates hills, valleys etc.(DJ posted a tutorial for it somewhere on this forum),it takes a few tryouts to get one you'll like,it's a bit hit and miss, but once you get the hang o...

Re: timing gates

1. no what i meant was,how cpu intensive are timing gates,if you have many does it contribute to freeze problems etc

2. i'd like to see what its like racing on a long circuit where you only get that info at halfway and lap finish

3. statues as opposed to billboards

timing gates

1.does the number of timing gates have much effect on how a track runs?
2.every timing gate shows gap to next rider,is it possible to switch that off,so you can have say 20 gates but only 2 give time gaps?
3. are there any solid low poly trees available for public use?

Re: Possible Harescramble / Endurocross series?

Stormz i hope you do get stuck in to making some cross country/enduro type tracks,i've thought the same regarding an enduro series, unfortunately i cant host but the biggest stumbling block is producing enough tracks,so far i got 1 finished, another almost finished and a 3rd in early stages, but i have...

Re: JLV's setup

your levelling at 10 is low, that'll make the bike very responsive but helluva twitchy too,try 20-30 for a more stable ride.

Re: AI

a while back the AI used to respond to training up to a point,if you laid down a clean start lap and an ordinary lap at a steady pace using easy lines they'd get round reliably even on some fairly technical tracks, but as you laid down progressively faster lines, they'd copy and reach a point where t...

Re: What tracks do you want on JLVs servers?!

on the 01 MX (user track) server i'd like to see #1~ a lot less tracks in the rotation,a set of 8 maybe #2~ every 8-12 weeks or so replace with another set of 8 #3~ perhaps each set containing 5 or 6 old favorites and 2 or 3 of the best new releases #4~ perhaps confine it to nationals type tracks on...

Re: MOORENDURO UPDATED WITH NEW TILE MAPPING

hmmmm...interesting comment DJ,but i think my grass/loam settings work good for the track :D
it's worth trying an 08 bike, with the softer power curve it gives the 09 a run,but i think the 09's got the edge with it's raw power
thanks for the feedback!
