Re: Losail WIP
How is the fences placed around like that (as well as in 13's gp's) where it's seamless, that they go into each other without small gaps or things looking misplaced? They also seem to be "straight" up and not super messy as it may be when placing them in a slope... That's always been on my mind.. T...

MXS GP Tracks - Sourcefiles
The improbable combination of bank holidays, kids being pacified by candy and Mediafire changing the max file upload size has made the progress a lot quicker than I thought. Instead of making loads of posts for all the different tracks I'll post them all here in one place so they're easier to find. ...

Losail WIP
As I don't have much time for MXS anymore I thought I'd share a few things that might be of interest and/or inspiration to other trackmakers. First out is the unfinished Losail track that was being made for the 2014 GP-series. The track base was done by Rafagas and the track details and environment ...

Re: The Other Racing Games Topic
Fuck me, I just saw that iracing now runs on penguinboxes!
Now I just need to free up some time and get hold of that old g27 that someone borrowed ages ago...
Finishing any tracks for this here game just got pushed even further into an already very distant future

Re: Not another "new game engine thread"
Mxs track environments are nowhere near the limit yet imo. If all you lazy, whining, hard-surface cowboys put in some track environment work instead of making ridiculous claims that everything would automatically look so much better in another engine we would most likely have tracks with visuals sim...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
The .kml file I was talking about is the one USGS includes in the e-mail you get with the download links from the national map viewer.
It shows the extent of the elevation/orthoimagery data you're about to download.

Re: Released Track Objects
Here are some updated .jm's for the GP bales.
The old textures still work.
Changes:
- Smoother shapes for the concave/convex bales.
- More/better lod's.

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
hehe. I wish I had some before and afters of glen helen. Dont think I kept any copies of the original. :? Don't try to compare Glen Helen to the crap data we have to use when making the GP's. Glen Helen has 10m/px data and the GP's have 90m/px at best and most of the times it's less than 150m...

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
..."track paths"... It's not that hard. If it's too high you use the lower tool and if it's too low you use the raise tool. Then you just use smooth to get the shit to look proper. Lazy spaniards tend to use gradients a lot but don't go there. It'll lead to all sorts of degenerate behaviour l...
