we should start like a qualifying thing where you do 3 laps and who ever does all laps with least crashes or something gets first gate pick per track

No, that takes way to long. Just do motos like the outdoors, but only have one moto.
Doing Heats, LCQ's, and a main is way to much work for people like me, who have nearly no time to devote to practice and racing.

So what about the first round?
This is what I propose:
Go by nationals final standings.
If you want to race this, but didn't race the outdoors, you get to choose after all other riders have chosen.
And then have a 5 lap race. Any longer than that for Supercross just spreads the field out to much. Seems like everyone will crash at least twice in the time of the race.

why 5? the heats are 5 the main for lites is at least 5 laps i say we do 10 max
