Re: mxserver-2009-05-05
19805 is not the server. That is the port on your server. My assumption is that the server address is your IP address. But I cannot get a connection.
To get the .trackinfo file for a new track, start a race at that track in single player, go into talk (t), and type "/savetrackinfo". This should be saved to your track folder. Get it out of there and put it into your mxserver folder

Yeah, I think there's more to it that just the server program. A few net settings on the computer probably need adjusting
Re: mxserver-2009-05-05
Seems to be working fine for me. To join your own server running at the same computer, put the address 127.0.0.1:19800 (or whatever portnumber you assigned).
The only problem I had with the instructions was that the trackinfos were in the subfolder, so I had to write it like "mxserver trackinfo\x1b.trackinfo". But that was pretty obvious solution.
Great work jlv.
edit: When I join my own server and then exit the game, the server shutdowns too. Did a little debugging and it seems if I don't disconnect when I quit the game, it shuts the server. But if I disconnect and THEN exit, it leaves the server running.

Hmmm, that seems to work. Well, thats LAN sorted. But I wonder how you get it to play over the net
Re: mxserver-2009-05-05
Hmmm, weird. I got it working with my real IP also. Maybe some firewall issues?DJ wrote:Hmmm, that seems to work. Well, thats LAN sorted. But I wonder how you get it to play over the net
Ps. For everyone: http://www.whatismyip.com/ to know your ip.

Re: mxserver-2009-05-05
Very strange. I even connected to your server. I must have a firewall problem somewhere. I might try turning it off temporarily
Could even be a router firewall stopping me. I'll have to get access to the firewall settings off my mate tomorrow

You have to also make sure that you have your --ban-file excrement.txt file and your --results-file serverresults.txt in the mxserver folder. That is, if you have them written in to your servertags file. Everything needs to be accounted for. In about an hour, try to log onto a server with the port 19488

Re: mxserver-2009-05-05
Don't write "mxserver" infront of the trackinfo files. Also if you extracted the zip as it is, you'll have the trackinfo files in a subfolder named "trackinfo". So you'll have to write for example "trackinfo/x1b.trackinfo"Kawasakis wrote:Umm i have a problem here,i need a help.Whats wrong? I think i read'ed all the tips/tutorials.

Re: mxserver-2009-05-05
My bad Kawasakis, excrementlist.txt and serverresults.txt is what they should be named. And just put them in the same folder with mxserver.exe
