Re: 2010-09-03 snapshot
ok so going down on the pipelength seems to take away that sound. Right now I'm at 2.5 1.0 -0.5. The only problem now is it has this strange electronic sounding hum when at idle. When at speed you don't hear it though.

Jlv, im having trouble understanding how to change the pipe sound. could you explain it to me a little better? thanks
Re: 2010-09-03 snapshot
Type, say
/pipe4 0.1 0.1 -0.1
into the ingame chat
/pipe4 0.1 0.1 -0.1
into the ingame chat

Great snapshot. Just one question. Is all this pipe canging stuff suppose to effect your speed and everything? because my bike feels alot different after setting my pipe to /pipe4 0.1 0.1 -0.1
Re: 2010-09-03 snapshot
think of it like this. factory teams use really long pipes in supercross, and ones that cut straight back in outdoors. torque versus top end i believe.
Re: 2010-09-03 snapshot
I'm gonna say a no to the "speed difference"

Re: 2010-09-03 snapshot
I haven't gotten to use this yet, but the pipe changing commands only change the sound of your pipe then?
Good work JLV, can't wait to run this!
Also, any comments on the "idle smoothing" How do you guys like it? notice it?

Idle smoothing is aolot better, not as pitchy. so if i wanted to do a longer pipe, would i put in like 3.3 or is that to high ?
Re: 2010-09-03 snapshot
got bored and made some pipe setups, 1.99 0.01 -0.55

You need to make the last LOD be a plane. I'll post an example tree in a bit.DJ wrote:With the new billboard statue lod thing though. I can make the model do the rotating thing, but how do you make the 3D model go to a flat plane? Does this work well for trees that have the leaves and trunk in a separate model? Cheers
It's not happening to me. The low pass filter is slightly different though. I'll see if I can make it match the old one exactly.dearnhardtfan7 wrote:Nice snapshot JLV. The only problem is that weird clanging noise on the 250s. No matter what I do I can't get it to go away. It almost sounds like there is a washer floating around inside the exhaust. Honestly I can't even ride the 250s now because its really giving me a headache. Going up on the reverb makes it better but it seems like it maxes out at 1.0 I think. After that when I make a change it actually cuts the sound off. If I restart the game the sound is back on but no matter how high I go with it, it doesn't change. Any suggestions?

This is very noticeable to me. Unless I'm noticing something different, textures (on objects' and tracks') that use a lot of alpha look more defined.jlv wrote:Changes:

I've tryed a lot of different settings today, but i haven't come up with one that changes the sounds that much. Good job, but to me, it sounds like all of the '08-'10 kawasaki's at my local track last weekend. More than one of them always have problems with their silencer, so it always sounds like there is a hole in the silencer when they're riding. This mimics that sound quite well.Nybrok wrote:got bored and made some pipe setups, 1.99 0.01 -0.55
