450's and 250 s strokes
Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
Let's just say it this way guys, to end all this bullshit about the better ones:
2stroke: Fun to ride, awesome sound/smell the whole time, cheap to run/fix
4stroke: Fun to ride, pretty expensive.
My Opinion:
you should have a 2stroke if you wanna have fun or race and a 4stroke only if you race, else it'll cost you alot if you just have it for fun.
eventho 4 stroke just seems easier to ride (for me).

Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
i've riddin an 09 yz 450f, and and rm 250 before, and i can say the 250, was almost the same exact grunt as the 450, they were both bad ass dirtbikes, i would go with the 250 thow because it has a powerband and is more of a challenge, thats what im getting in 2 moths for my next bike or ktm 250 xc, depending if i can get a good deal on one

Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
haha. bro idk what 450 your riding. But my KX450f I raced 250 B Mod at lorettas last year was night and day difference from any 250f i've ever ridden. And My stock 450 is faster than my mod 250f... maybe you rode a trail bike since you said you want a ktm xc. haha.

Now that they have EFI and WAAAY lighter everything, thats true. Back when they were still running John Deere engines and tube frames....it was no contest. Maybe he meant "quicker". Technique definitely is a factor.DJ_Diehl#777 wrote:Yeah, im gonna call Bullshit on that one...woodpecka39 wrote:CR250R is faster than a CRF450R I have personally raced on a dirt drag strip and my 1999 CR250R is faster than a 2009 CRF450R

Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
I still maintain that there would be no difference. As soon as the 450f's came out, everybody would on them and the 250f would be an orphan. All organized races would be for the 450f, all new stuff would be made for the 450f. Only a handful of people would bother to ride the 250f and it would be just for shits.
So this is my proposition:
Convince yourself that we already have 450f's in the game. There are no 250f's, it has been a 450f the whole time just called by the wrong name in game.
If you do this, the whole thing falls into place perfectly.
Everyone is already riding a 450f, why do you need to upgrade? All races are already being done for the 450f's. And yeah, the tracks are already designed for the 450f's.
Yay, no more topics on when we'll get 450's and all the benefits that a new model/engine map will bring to the playability of the game (which is none). I would rather see shadows for the bike/rider, new-fangled graphics stuff put in, sounds sorted and UI upgrades (save setups, a drop down list of servers and...). These things would all add something to the game.

Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
It wouldn't be that way forever though. Eventually, people would get tired of using 450's and just go back to the 250. I would think that most people are just going to ride the bike they have in real life. I also don't see why you think the races would be only for 450's. I'm sure that Sween and Sib would do both classes. Also, the only reason that everything new would be coming out for the 450's is because we don't have anything for the 450's so we would need all the same stuff we have on the 250's on the 450's aswell.
Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
Which basically means everybody will be putting their efforts into something we already have (good looking models/skins). There is something I am neglecting though, maybe people would be more energized about the game because of the 450, and then make stuff better, faster, and more of it...it could happen. My opinion doesn't really matter though because I don't have time to contribute content anyway, so I'll crawl back into my hole.
Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
I agree with prologue the tracks are designed like real life and so I agree 250 2strokes and 450 are going to be great in the game

Re: 450's and 250 s strokes
I know this threads old, but i just gotta post. Can't stand the idiocy displayed here.
If we put 450s and 250 2 strokes in the game, make them have the same horsepower, but keep the 250s in a 1000rpm powerband, but make it lighter, so it's just as fast as the 450, but fucking hard to keep on the juice.
As for real life..
Race tuned 2 strokes eat 4 strokes alive. That's a fact.
Stock 4 strokes eat stock 2 strokes alive. That's a fact too.
For the average joe with money, 4 strokes are better, for the poor people, 2 strokes are better.
For racers with money, it's personal choice, for racers without money, 2 strokes provide the means to win... you just gotta change the piston rings every week xD.
Nobody likes 2 strokes, because they're hard to ride. Everyone who CAN ride well, loves them.
My uncle races, or rather raced since he's broken his foot, in the Senior Expert class over here in britain, and his tuned Suzuki 250 2 stroke was glorious.
Also, all this bullshit about 2 strokes being phased out... as long as there are small people like myself, they shall live on. I can't pick a 450 up once i've fallen off it, bloody heavy.
(that's not because i'm some sort of weakling midget, just young)

You're outta your tree. If a race tuned 2 stroke was going to eat a 450 for lunch, all the SX guys would have never switched to 450s.
