POVray is what we use to render object shadows for our tracks. So far, I think I'm the only one who knows how to do it. I'll try and make a tutorial sometime soon

What is actually being checked in the checksum? I'm guessing terrain.hf, terrain.png, and statues. Is that all? Is there anything I can do to check what is actually wrong?
I have the wrong checksum on the server. x1b is probably bad too. Those tracks have the old non png terrains, but the checksum picked up the terrain.png files from when I saved while retexturing those tracks. I'll redo the checksums.

The files checked are "terrain.hf", "terrain.png", "texturelist", "tilemap", "timing_gates", "statues" and all shape files referenced by "statues".

I have downloaded every objects pack under DJ's "Necessary Objects" thread. Still some tracks work and some don't. Most recently, Showtime's AX3 and now Baufief fail to work online.

So many people just tried to connect to Baufief, haha. I'm lonely right now.

I think the track only uses stock stuff

So why are you playing and mine isn't working? I should have the same files you do.

Can't resolve address on every server. Do you have them down at the moment?

EDIT: This happens on 19802, for the person who posted below with just a quote.

The only server running this protocol version is elsinore.mxsimulator.com:19802
I will move the others over once this has been tested a bit.

Great update JLV.....the work on the bike sounds is much apprechiated.... :D

But i think the auto disconnect for unmatching track files is retarded.......every track i try to connect to says i have something missing....

Who the hell cares if im missing a "cyprustree.png".......... :?

Not to mention the guys who have slow computers and cant run maps with excessive status and decals.....

You guys should be able to set the model geometric detail between 0-5 and run fine.

I have not noticed any lag with this update, and im running 1680x1050 max settings with my graphics drivers tweaked for maximum detail. You guys need to spend your pennies and upgrade your dinosaurs!

It tells you what files you are missing. Read it.....

Make sure you go to DJ's essential objects post and get everything that is listed there.

If that doesnt fix it, go to this place and redownload the track.

if anything this new snapshot is running better on my computer than the old ones. i was in an 11 man race at pine creek earler and only noticed considerable lag at the start. if i had a race like that 2 weeks ago i would of had to restart my computer lol
