Sounds like someone needs to pay jlv for a legal copy of the game, instead of getting it from a friend

You are an idiot... Seriously a big fricken idiot.

JLV i think the registration key also needs to be implemented to be able to get any snapshots etc. Just make it so you need to put in your key to initiate the download.
Anyway you could get it so the snapshot is good for 1 download only?
That would mean writing an installer for each snapshot which would be a pain.

How about have another zzzw.saf which checks the key code to open the game?

Or maybe implement the snapshot downloads in to the game. Say everytime you would connect online it checks for a newer snapshot, then downloads it and maybe resets game if necessary.

The snapshots are barely tested, so it would be a bad idea to auto update to them.

Why not link a registration key to a MAC address (of any network device on the machine).
That way you know it'll only work on a specific machine.

Give us all a script to run that retrieve MAC address, we have to send it to you, and you store MAC address alongside our email address.
You could even embed the MAC in the key (we all get new keys)

I'm not a big fan of that kind of copy protection. I'll try to stop what I can, but not if it means inconveniencing the paying customers.
