You need to redirect the stderr like this:

mxserver --args-file serverargs.txt 2>log.txt

The is more info on command redirection here.

What have you done so far? Did you download DJ's template server folder? Read and understand the Read Me?

I'd just go to the web site of whoever makes the router and download the manual from there.

Ok, i downloaded the sample server. Forwarded my ports. Ran the bat file. Connected to my server. THEN I tried to have someone connect and all it said for them was contacting server.

It might be my ip adress, this is what i told him to connect to: 71.166.152.90:19800

Or, it might be how i port forwarded? I just named it mx and did start port and end port 19800?

Any thing wrong?

Do you have the 19800 port defined in the args file? I don't remember if the template already has that or not.

Make sure you forwarded UDP port 19800. TCP won't work.

Ok i just tested and I can connect but no one else can. The port was forwarded to 19800 UDP/TCP and I changed it to mxsim, UDP, 19800, 19800. And the person thats trying to join still gets the same contacting server. Im pretty positive i have the i.p right. And i just checked the args file and the port is 19800. Any suggestions?

Can you see them trying to connect on the console you're running the server from? A connection attempt will look like this:

AF_INET ###.###.###.###:##### Sending session id ######## to slot # (normal)

If you're seeing that and they aren't connecting, it means the incoming packets are getting to your server but the outgoing packets are getting blocked. You should make sure nothing is blocking outgoing UDP in that case.
