Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
not sure how to word this:
the percent of weight your rider has towards the back of the bike...
example: 33 = 33% to rear, 67% to front
50 = 50% to rear, 50% to front

Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
no. its the height of the center of mass.
the higher the number, the higher (up the body) the center of mass of the rider. so having a high number will put the center of mass more to the top of the rider making it easier (in my opinion) to control the bike.

Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
ohhhh ok that makes sense.... i figured it was the back of the bike because i can wheelie easier when it's on 50 rather than 33... thanks for clearing that up Servatis
Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
I don't agree with you because a lot of faster pilots are using minimum value.Servatis wrote:...so having a high number will put the center of mass more to the top of the rider making it easier (in my opinion) to control the bike.
I prefer simulation way, I set it to maximum, so I NEED to set my front-back position carrefuly (rear when braking to avoid front flip for example, or simply easier to make wheelies). And I'm not satisfied, sometime i would want to sit on my fuel tank or be abble to better influence on my bike. But sometimes i would want body weight removed from bike inertia in quick side-on-side leaning for sample. Because of natural inverse moving compensation. (should I make a suggestion for that ?)
So It may easily be understandable than lower your center of mass, easier will be the bike control without moving rider position.
If you look Cobra riding for example, he don't use front-back leaning a lot.
I think to understand how it's working, this setting could be named 'rider height size', imagine a small pilot at 0,35 (Jeff ward?) and a 'bigger heighter' (taller ?) pilot at 0.40. (Jean-Michel Bayle ?)
(My school knowledges are bad so i should use some shortcuts to try to understand some of your physic calculations ;p)
Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
Oups, i'm using 0.50 , the maximum.
And i tried to set 0.6 by editing config. file but it's not working.
If Josh can allow more choice i will be happy.
I think the Zspring & Zdamping also have influence on rider control, i'm using theses values because I wan't to be free on my bike like in real world, and because i'm using a joystick, (bigger precision but it's easier, faster to set min to max values with a joypad or a keyboard. And for simulation i think joystick reflect better the reality, waiting (dreaming ?) for a sim bike controller and MXS controller and physical optimizations in this way too. (or next MX simulation game maybe...)
rider_yspring=85.000000
rider_ydamping=74.000000
rider_zspring=75.000000
rider_zdamping=8.000000
rider_mass_distribution=0.550000

Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
I can't even figure out my suspension as is lol...So many things to consider......
Re: 2010-09-22 snapshot
It's not suspensions, it's rider settings.TBARRY34 wrote:I can't even figure out my suspension as is lol...So many things to consider......
And recently i lowered rider mass distribution from 0.50 to 0.48 or 0.47 depending track. I losed some traction but bike is more stable, I a keep sufficient control on it. With theses settings, i have to use hard suspensions, if someone want to try my settings, i will be honnored and happy to know what you think about my settings here.
