Gas and brake cancel eachother out

I recently just got back into mx sim and when I hit the gas and break at the same time they cancel each other out. I reset my controller and downloaded a different controller software, tried just a usb yet nothing worked. Especially when I break tap I cant hit the gas and its just odd. Is this a setting in game? A new update? or something physical that's just not possible to do any more?
