Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
Sand should have a higher static friction (i.e. when speed = 0). You only want it to start at 0 for really greasy mud.

Yeah your right. Set it to 0.4

Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
how about some ettings for tarmac and different types of dirt?
Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
IDK how this will work out. But sand and mud need to have a higher initial resistance. As it is now when you are stopped you have no traction so if you're on a hill you keep sliding. This is annoying and should be remedied.

Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
If its a mud fest and you get stuck on a steep hill, are you going to get up it with 0 momentum?
Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
Well, with 0 momentum, you wouldnt move anywhere

Killed my point
Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
sorry if this sounds stupid but where abouts to you put these numbers like in personal folder somewhere? sorry if it is silly question
Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
they are numbers you put into the tileinfo textfile in the track folder when you are making a track,
not at all applicable if you arent making something

Get a pack of dogs up ya!

is there any idea on what would make a good tileinfo for a clay based SX track? Id mess around with the numbers but I have no idea what direction to start in...
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
i have found a setting that I feel is pretty nice for clay.
friction 1.5 1.0
friction 1.15 32.0
friction 1.0 64.0
roll_resist 5.0 15.0 10.0
Gives you tons of grip when at higher speed, but doesn't make you loop out when you dump the clutch. Test it out and let me know what you think. I also have a sx track using these numbers that should be released by the weekend. Just gotta model a couple small objects.

Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
hey just wondering if someone could help me
when you do this do you have to create a new text document on wordpad and save as tileinfo or is there one that you edit???????

Re: Ground Friction and Resistance Index
download notepad++ and yes just create a new file, input your numbers, then save it as tileinfo in your track folder.
