Best program for replicas?

Post by knapp21 »

hey i was just curious what you guys thought would be the best program for making replicas. i've been wanting to learn how to make tracks for awhile and i fooled around with the ingame editor and l3dt but just can't seem to even get close with the displacement maps. any input would be appreciated.

Well its either the ingame editor or photoshop. Each to there own i guess...

Supercross is defiantly easier with photoshop because you can more stuff really easily. But awesome tracks such as indi 2008 were done with the ingame editor whereas all of brents tracks are mostly done with photoshop (Houston etc...)

It's very difficult to get the slopes right in a paint program. I'd use a paint program for the base terrain and build the jumps with the editor.

Using photoshop is a very good way to get smooth looking jumps because you can easily blur them. I simply make my tracks in photoshop then just smooth off the lip with the ingame editor.
