Flaggers file format

Post by jlv »

ddmx488 was asking me about the flaggers file format. I thought I'd post the info here so everyone could use it.

[1214.000000 0.000000 461.000000] <- This is where the 30 second board starts
[1214.000000 0.000000 561.000000] <- This is where the 30 second board stops
8.4 1 <- How tall the image should be drawn and the aspect ratio
12 <- How many seconds it takes to go from the start position to the end position
@30sec_30.png <- 30 seconds
@30sec_turn.seq <- Turn the board sideways (.3 seconds)
@30sec_5.png <- Sideways board
@30sec_run.seq <- Running animation
@30sec_done.png <- Done

[740 0.0 588] <- This is where the finish line flagger goes
8 1 <- Height and aspect ratio
@finish_green.png <- Default flag
@finish_crossed.png <- Halfway flag
@finish_white.png <- One lap
@checkerwave.seq <- Finished

[1192 0 967] <- First corner flagger position
9.6 1 <- Height and aspect ratio
7 -1 -1 -1 <- Which timing gates this flagger is watching. There must be exactly 4, use -1 for the ones you don't need.
@flagger_resting.png <- Safe
@flagger_waving.seq <- Caution

Is there any chance you could upload those pictures?

Here's 30sec_30.png. The rest are pretty similar.

Except you won't be able to make the chick run, because you need to make .seq files, and that can only be done on linux

Good point. :/

I'm trying to look for someway to make .seq work with windows, and I haven't.

Linux is a free OS though, right? So if someone feels like spending the time to put Linux on their CPU, then... we can have new flaggers, etc.

The images in the .seq are embedded in the file. You can't easily change them. I'll change it so it can read external pngs instead.

Is there a way that there could be a different format?
