MX Simulator

I got a new pc and every time I try to save my heightmap it doesn't update the file but its still there in game. any ideas on what it could be?

When you save tracks in the editor it saves the files to %localappdata%/MX Simulator. Whatever track you're editing there should be a folder in there with the saved track files. For future reference, always work with this directory when making tracks.
