I'm trying to decided weather my room mate is rude or ignorant.

I got home from work later than usual, and he is cooking spaghetti, using all stuff I purchased. When he finishes, he just sits down and starts eating his delicious meal, doesn't tell me if I want some its ready or anything. I pretty much cook every other day, and always make sure to tell him it's ready if he wants in.

So, I can get a new desktop, but I do not want to build it. The price range is under $1000. I want atleast an i5, with preferably a NVIDIA card, unless someone can tell me why I should get something else. I have a decent internet connection if that can help in any way. Thanks in advance.

But yeah KTM, iBite was right. It would probably have some defect. And takes too much time.

Yeah March i'm planning on it, so the last 1/2 of SX and then 3/4 of MX, presuming i get 6 months, which i hope i do!

If you're looking for a gaming rig, go for i5 2500k. The games now cannot really make use of the i7's hyperthreading, and you'll save a hundred bucks or so.

I'm looking at 2500k + 560ti setup right now (just need to make the decision if to buy it now, or still save some more money ) but your budget would allow a better graphics card. 560ti has probably the best bang for buck ratio right now though.
