AMA has its piece of cake but the ultimate sanctioning body of the series is the FIM... and they let riders to change numbers... highly unlikely but it has happened (like Melandri in 2000 or 2001). Also, don't say the FIM isn't serious about numbers. They have sticked to the rule of 2-digit numbers in MotoGp like Hell. Neil Hodgson (typically #100) and Ruben Xaus (typically #111) asked FIM a ton of times if they could have their career numbers in MotoGp, they said "NO"wheels1758 wrote:#1) this is "Carmichael's race", so he probably gets to practice with them. He won't race.
#2) James will run #7 in the racing. I doubt the AMA/MX Sports would allow him to change his number midway through the year. This is not a FELD race, but it still is sanctioned by the AMA, so he can't just change his number. I'm sure its just the Gibbs team having some fun and loosening things up with mr JS.
PS : Cole Seely had 7 laps and everyone was amazed... if he has the speed, I want him to race
