I hate that system so much. It always comes down to whoever can rally their friends on Facebook or Twitter or whatever instead of the people actually giving the prize choosing the best entries for the winners. I think crowd voting to find a top 25 or so, then a choice by Vurb would work better, but that's just me.

I think whichever video wins, I'm NOT going to like it. Almost every entry I've seen starts out the same

Everyone has their preferences when making videos and consequently everyone thinks their way is the best. These contests always bring out the couch filming experts.

But honestly there's only so many ways to make a Motocross video, it comes down to the music, and you will never impress everyone. Someone will always hate it no matter what you do.

Everyone in this thread thinks their personal video should win and everyone else's video is "the same generic Mx bullshit". That's just natural human psychology.

Of course I think the music I mixed is dope, cause I made it, and of course I think my video is the fucking best video ever, cause I'm biased as fuck toward my own work just like everyone else!

The best videos never win these contests though, that's just the nature of fan voting. Its all bullshit. I honestly just wanted to put another cool video on my channel...and win the stupid contest.

Honestly, they should be perfect complements to one another.

I guess its like having a very high quality instrument, but you still need to know what notes to hit, and in what sequence the notes should be.

But the order in which you put them makes all the difference. Thousands of "artists" these days don't play "instruments" but still make killer music.

I agree with august, hundreds of kids can sit down with amazing footage and make a decent edit, and they did. The fan voting just seals the deal of this is stupid for me. Racerx film festival seems like a much better use of time. No fan voting and will narrow down the field a lot because you actually have to go film. Filming is definitely what will make or brake video.

The thing about this contest is that the footage is so good that anybody with half a brain can sit down and make a good looking video. I've seen a few that look like shit ( ) but most of the ones I've seen are the same general format, mine included.
