Yesterday night we recieved the terrible news that 5 time world champion and 7 time Belgian champion, George Jobé lost his fight against leukemia.
George was more then just a multiple champ. At his age of 19 y.o. he became the youngest world champion in the 250cc class. He won 4 more titles after that.
When he became world champion for the 5th time he decided to retire and ride some dessert races for fun. After a terrible accident he became paralized. But that was not a reason for George to sit back and cry. He showed his dedication and learned how to walk again.
After he conquered that disaster strikes again. Doctors discovered skin cancer. Once again he showed pure determination like he showed it on track. Fighting till the end and once again he won and conquered.
But his determination got put to the test once again when doctors told him he got leukemia. This time destiny got the best of him and the Legend George Jobé past away at a age of 51 year old.
His mx soul will live further in the souls of Arnaud Tonus, who he coached, Kevin Fors, his son-in-law and many more Belgian and international motocross riders.
C'mon George, learn those bitches up there how they pin a good old 2 stroke!

He'll always be remembered around here for this iconic shot, making a double from two singles at Hawkstone Park.
Very sad that he was so young. My thoughts go out to his family, RIP Georges.

Damn, he really was a hard-working guy. He didn't deserve such a thing.

Besides Roger deCoster, he was the first Euro-rider I knew of. R.I.P. George.
