Whats your pc?
Re: Whats your pc?
I bought a Dell Inspiron N5110 last weekend. Not the best for gaming, but meh.
CPU: i5-2430M (2.4GHz, up to 3GHz with turbo)
Graphics: NVidea GT525M (1GB)
RAM: 4GB DDR3
That's a better CPU than my desktop (which I'm selling; hit me up if you're an aussie who needs a good comp), but the graphics card is no where near as good (at least the memory is the same). I've got MX Sim on it, but only with the stock stuff at the moment. I run at 125 FPS with a couple of bikes on JLV's SX track, so if the performance turns to shite with the HD stuff, I can always just revert back to the stock stuff.

Re: Whats your pc?
Working for Geek Squad has its perks- just putting together my system now:
Board: Intel DP67BGB3 Extreme Series
Processor: Intel i7 2700K
RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3
HDD: Intel 64Gb SSD, 2 x 1Tb secondaries
Video: 2 NVIDIA GeForce 560Ti's SLI'ed
Case: Antec 902 V3 case, with all extra fans installed
Cooler: Rocketfish Twin Fan cooler (push/Pull config)
Optical: 1 BD Burner, 1 DVD Burner, 1 Flash reader
For a system that would retail for around $2200, building it for less than $900 sealed the deal for me! I do mostly video work with my friends, but gaming will be a priority. I'll probably start out with 16Gb RAM and run only one videocard and see how antsy I get lol. I'll have pics of the build by the middle of January, as I need to wait for Intel to ship my stuffs.

Re: Whats your pc?
What are your guys thoughts about liquid cooling. My processor runs about 40 celcius but when I upgrade my gpu I may look into liquid cooling...

Re: Whats your pc?
the way I look at it, Liquid cooling is pretty much completely overkill unless you are constantly playing at high loads or are upping the voltage alot. I would just buy a good CPU heatsink and call it a day. much cheaper.Grizz wrote:What are your guys thoughts about liquid cooling. Re: Whats your pc?
For OC, watercooling is so good.
I can run my i7 950 @ 4.2Ghz at 50-55° max on occt ( stress the cpu at 100% during 1hour)

Re: Whats your pc?
@Heather: No. Processor is slow as hell and the graphics card is sucky.

Re: Whats your pc?
n00b question, if I overclock it takes up more power, correct?

With my new PC, it comes with a 460W supply and I was thinking that later on I would get another of the same graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti) and run SLI. The question is, do I also need to upgrade my supply? Probably yes, and if it is yes, what do you guys recommend?
