Re: 2011 AMA Motocross Discussion
And image those tracks to race on with 40riders. I guess you're getting a train with riders riding wheel in wheel to find that 1 spot on the track where it is possible to show your wheel or pass the guy in front without losing to much time.
While in Freestone you can ride side by side almost the entire lap. Like on all AMA tracks.
I'm not saying that Freestone is one of the most beautiful tracks in the season, but the trackworkers do their best to make a multiple lined and challaging track. On Mxsimulator when you find out that the inside is way faster then the outside, then you just ad some braking bumps and both line's are almost equal in speed. But in real life it isn't that easy to build a track that keeps his multiple line's through the whole day.
Btw, are big jumps and doubles trough the entire track not a bit to supercross'ish? I wouldn't watch a national at such a track. If I wanna see jumps I go watch supercross. If I wanna see big whips and tricks I'll watch some FMX. But in mx I wanna see never ending sweepers, braking bumps, ruts, ski jumps, table tops, sandwhoops ... And when the natural terrain allows to, some step ups, downs, uphills and downhills.

450: Villopoto
Re: 2011 AMA Motocross Discussion
Those are just examples of what is possible on a simple flat piece of land and how retarded the freestone track builders are.scheeve3 wrote:And image those tracks to race on with 40riders.
Obviously, a national track would be designed to accommodate 40 riders.
Typical European, Just make it rough as hell with no jumps, Yay! fun! Not... In America, we like jumps.scheeve3 wrote:Btw, are big jumps and doubles trough the entire track not a bit to supercross'ish? I wouldn't watch a national at such a track.

Re: 2011 AMA Motocross Discussion
Sorry for DP, but when did they start doing 450's first, I know it's been at least since when Reed won the title, but I never really noticed lol..
Re: 2011 AMA Motocross Discussion
Yeah, I don't know when they started that. You think they would do 450's last to keep the not-so-into-it fans watching Fuel for longer to see the 450's. But who knows.
Cool to see Craig up front!

WOW so bummed for marvin, he got the shit knocked outta him by his bike. Barcia Took a nice digger as well.
Re: 2011 AMA Motocross Discussion
Yeah, Barcia took himself a nice and short dirtnap.
Sucks for Musquin though. He had a nice start.

Re: 2011 AMA Motocross Discussion
Musquin, had a nice up close look at barcia's rear tire, that had to hurt! Barcia's crash really didn't look too bad, good thing that soil is soft and there was a hay bale. 1/4 of the class DNF'd! Can't wait to see moto 2...
Pourcel looked comfortable and good, but either the bike failed or some fatigue took place. Reed was hauling! Nice to see him winning as a team owner/team rider.
