I'm very curious to know why not (alpha background)?
Is that not how you get the hand guards, and the front plate wrap (over the bars) plastics not to show up (except for the reflections)?

Do not use ti for the whole image. The mip mapping makes it leak in at a distance, causing your skin to disappear

Any color will bleed in, not just transparent. The best thing to do would be to use a value propogate filter set to more opaque until all the transparent areas are gone. Then erase whatever areas that you want to be transparent. That way the color that bleeds in will match the edge.

Downloaded GIMP just to see what you meant, but I still don't really understand how that would work.

But man, I didn't know GIMP was as good as it is. It has everything photoshop has, if not more. I think I might try to learn how to use it, seems like a really decent program

Look in filters/distort. What it does is make transparent pixels become the same color as the most opaque neighboring pixel.

GIMP really needs more than 8 bits per channel. If it had that I'd be happy with it.

I must be honest - JLV - you lost me, please explain what you mean re the opaque background.

I got a bit fed up with the std RM125 skin, so thought I'd give it a bash (not as easy as I thought), but have cut away some areas so as to neaten the shapes a bit.

Is what I'm doing there not gonna work - it is actually quite messy in game (except for the front plate - that came out quite well)

Oh - please - give comments - this was just gonna be for personal use, but if other want it - I'll give it out. BTW - I just did this for fun, & by no means consider it a high quality job.
O - & I know the engine really looks dumb - but I wanted to "draw" everything, and not just paste a photo in.

Oh - updated colours on Forum are looking wicked JLV!!!

Don't worry too much about that. As long as you don't make the background completely transparent, its not a problem

it does look good but there r little things that need changing
1. the ama logos on the side need to be more on an angle.
2. under the side plates should be white.
3. and that blue stripe thing on the radiator shrouds i, personally, really dont like that
other than these three things it looks pretty good
cos its an rm125
