Yamaha Model Update
Yamaha Model Update
This update includes:
FOR ALL MODELS (except WR): -Various LOD models
-Fixed seat unwrapping issue (I think)
4-STROKES
-Modified frame
-Slightly increased detail on engine.
For those who don't know what LOD's are:
LOD stands for Level Of Detail. The purpose of LOD's is to reduce the geometric detail of the models at a distance. This reduces the amount that needs to be rendered, hence less work for the computer.
The LOD's only work when 'Model Geometric Detail' is set to something less than 100. Reducing this number will make the LOD's change at a shorter distance.
LOD models have the ending _lod#. For my LOD's, I used 5,6 and 7. When 'Model Geometric Detail' is set to 50, the distance at which the LOD's interchange is given by 2^#, so in this case, the first change is at 32ft, then 64ft, then 128ft.
Recommendations: Every user should enable them, no matter how good your computer is, just set the changes to a high distance. I'm leaving mine set on 85.
Slower computers might want to set it to around 50.
If you are taking screenshots, I would turn off the LOD's, as you wont be too worried about the frame rate.
It probably won't make much of a difference yet, unless everyone runs Yamaha's, cos none of the other bikes use LOD's. I'll eventually make them for the CRF, KXF, and RMZ. Anyone else making models should really think about making LOD's, its not too hard to do, most programs have a Poly Reducing script. Although, I hacked away alot of the polies myself.
Anyway, here is the update. Just unzip it, and put it in your personal folder. I named it in a way so it shouldn't conflict with any older models:

Re: Yamaha Model Update
Nice, hopefully everyone starts to use LOD's on all models they make, that way tracks could be a lot more detailed than they can be right now.

For real? Look above your post.
(It was really hard for me not to give you shit about how silly your post was)
(The ironic thing is that the above line sorta is giving you shit)
