Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
Jeez, you're problem is simple. For starters, you don't just run mxserver.exe. Make a bat file like I've said before. Or make a shortcut for mxserver.exe. Then add --args-file serverargs.txt into the same spot you put --editor for the game.
As for me, my router/computer is not doing what it is supposed to. Its frustrating as hell.

Double click the bat file, not the exe.

Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
Ok well i'm in the same hole as Mikey, I got all my .trackinfo stuff but I didn't have a bat file. Stole mikeys and now I have added the mxserver --args-file thing in my target box tried to run the bat file and nothing happened, I then tried to run my game and it won't open, I have also tried running the mxserver.exe as a shortcut and just in the mxserver folder. Is there some spot that this mxserver folder is supposed to be? Did I miss a step somewhere? I have the mxserver file in my personal folder if that matters.
One more question, were does my IP number come into play? I havent seen a spot for me to enter this anywhere, or is this just so i can connect to my server?
EDIT:
I looked at the readme again, whats this part mean?
"To run the server, just run mxserver with the trackinfo files of the tracks you want to run as parameters, like this: mxserver rabbithill.trackinfo"
Why would I put the mxsrver infront of the track name? Is this like a whole new folder or am I supposed to have this in the serverargs.txt?

Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
1) If you have put anything wrong in the serverarg.txt file, it will not run
2) Put
mxserver.exe rabbithill.trackinfo
into a bat file. Run the bat file.

mxserver.exe rabbithill.trackinfo

Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
I'd run it from a command prompt until I had it working. That way you get to see the error message when it fails.

Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
How do I make a bat file? I stole one from Mikey so i'm clueless as to how I should do this.
Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
Do what JLV said first.
But to make a bat file, just write what I said, in Notepad++, and save it as whatever.bat

Re: mxserver-2009-05-08
What address are you trying to connect with? I can only connect to my own using my LAN IP address. Go to Network Connection, click on Local Area Connection, and down the left hand side, under details, it will have an IP address. Try connecting to that
